All students are to follow the below timetable to enable them to submit/complete their TOK essay on time.

For all deadlines you must upload the work using this template.
Put your name and a file description on every file you upload as that way 2 files with the same name will not be uploaded. i.e. if everyone uploaded a file called Ideassofar.doc your work would not be on your page as there would be two files with this name on the Wikispaces server. Follow this naming convention to avoid problems

1. In what ways may disagreement aid the pursuit of knowledge in the natural and human sciences? I chose this question because I believe that there is a lot to be discussed about what ways disagreement will aid knowledge. Without disagreement, further testing and evaluation is not done and therefore less knowledge is gained, and or false knowledge may be gained. Ways of knowing that can be discussed here are reason, language, and sense perception.

3. “The possession of knowledge carries an ethical responsibility.” Evaluate this claim. I chose this question because I enjoy exploring each individuals different morals or beliefs. I can use this question and see both sides as to whether something is morally right or wrong and in this case whether knowledge does carry an ethical responsibility. In my opinion I believe that knowledge does carry ethical responsibility as with knowledge comes power and the ability to make great changes that can impact ones life, therefore who carries this power has the obligation to follow the core principles and values. Ways of knowing that can be discusses are sense perception, reason and emotion. Areas of knowing that can be discussed are, natural and human sciences, and ethics.

5. “That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.” (Christopher Hitchens). Do you agree? I chose this question because I think this would be an interesting topic to be evaluating as it will involve all the ways of knowing. I do not agree that one should believe everything they hear with out any evidence. The ways of knowing in this question would be sense perception, reason, language and emotion. The areas of knowing would be, ethics, history and natural sciences.
